Colour Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are the devices used to film a desired area and pass the information in digital or analogue format to a multiplexer or recorder. The decision as to which type of cameras to use depends on its location environment and the type of subject being monitored.
Colour CCTV Cameras are best suited to good light conditions (daytime or indoor) where image clarity is important. They do not perform so well in low light conditions. For this reason most colour CCTV cameras are fitted with a day/ night mode which switches them to a mono Infra Red mode for evening use.
The cameras come in a varity of shapes and sizes, there are Dome, Covert, Fixed, - Pan, Tilt & Zoom (PTZ), all have their particular uses for specific situations.
