The type of cable used by satellite installers to take the signal from the LNB (Low Noise Block) and supply it to the satellite receiver, is coaxial satellite cable. Good quality coaxial cable has a thick single strand copper core, a foam dielectric surrounding the core, a copper sheath surrounded by several strands of copper braid with a weatherproof pvc outer sheath jacket.
The three main weights of cable are 100, 125 and 165. With 100 being used for downleads and short cable runs and 125 and 165 being used for long cable runs and trunk cables.
