The type of cable used by aerial installers to take the signal from the aerial and supply it to the TV is a coaxial aerial cable. Good quality coaxial cable has a thick single strand copper core, a foam dielectric surrounding the core, a copper sheath surrounded by several strands of copper braid with a weatherproof pvc outer sheath jacket.
The three main weights of cable are 100, 125 and 165. With 100 being used for downleads and short cable runs and 125 and 165 being used for long cable runs and trunk cables.
Commercial Technical Services only uses cable approved by the Confederation of Aerial Industries benchmarking scheme.
