The risks associated with the construction industry and the fact our engineers spend a lot of time working at heights requires Commercial Technical Services to take its health and safety responsibilities very seriously. We are mindful of the responsibilities placed on us directly by the HSE but also of the particular practices of our clients.
To this extent, as a minimum, all of our engineers are required to undertake courses in, Working at Heights, Ladder Training, Basic First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling and achieve the CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). All employees are trained in our Health and Safety policy and Accident procedures and are CRB checked for security.
There is also a rolling programme in place for management to achieve SMSTS accreditation (Site Management Safety Train Scheme) and we are able to access in-house support from our Health and Safety manager alongside external support from a contracted Health and Safety consultancy.
Commercial Technical Services has considerable experience as a Principle Contractor, to Construction Design Management regulations. All the policies and procedures are assessed to meet and exceed the requirements of the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
